Družbeno ozadje članov lokalnega sveta v Koreji: Osredotočanje na socialno raznolikost

Članice lokalnih svetov so v številnih državah postale pomembno vprašanje raziskav. Vendar raziskave o socialnem ozadju članov lokalnih svetov niso dovolj napredovale. Ta študija je analizirala družbeno ozadje članov lokalnih svetov v Koreji, izvoljenih med letoma 1991 in 2014. V analizi je uporabljen spol, starost, izobrazba, poklic in pripadnost politični stranki ter indeks kakovostnih razlik za razumevanje socialnega ozadja korejskih lokalnih svetnikov. Rezultati so pokazali, da so korejski člani sveta večinoma moški, v 50-ih letih, visoko izobraženi, s političnimi izkušnjami in povezani z dvema glavnima strankama. Raznolikost spolov članov lokalnih svetov je najnižja v primerjavi z drugimi družbenimi dejavniki. Da bi povišali raznolikost spolov članov lokalnih svetov, bi bilo treba reformirati volilni sistem in izboljšati družbeno dojemanje žensk v politiki.
