Povzetek

This research explores the advantages of stormwater use for groundwater recharge, and the challenges of urban development such as growing traffic, weather fluctuations, and the increasing demand for sustainable water supplies. It investigates the factors that affect the implementation of stormwater management like personal norms, subjective norms, awareness of consequences, environmental responsibility, environmental concern and the intention to adopt stormwater management, in line with the Altruistic Behavior Model. Structural equation modeling of a sample of 410 reveals strong associations among these factors and stormwater management practices. Importantly, awareness of consequences serves as a moderator for the relationship between environmental responsibility and environmental concern and the relationship between environmental concern and stormwater management. These results indicate that raising awareness can  significantly  improve uptake of sustainable stormwater management practices and provide important theoretical and social insights.
