Učinkovitost in korupcija v lokalnih okrajih: dokazi iz Romunije

Zaradi finančne krize in pomanjkanja virov je nujno analizirati učinkovitost upravljanja javnih sredstev tako na centralni kot tudi na lokalni ravni. Splošni namen raziskave je sestavljen iz ocene tehnične učinkovitosti vseh okrajev v Romuniji, pri čemer se izračuni opravijo na podlagi matematičnega modela analize ovojnice podatkov (DEA) in Tobitovega nelinearnega ekonometričnega modela. Hkrati pridemo do zaključka, da v Romuniji, enako kot v drugih državah, obstaja vzročna povezava med učinkovitostjo lokalnih oblasti in stopnjo korupcije.
