This work aims to highlight the inconsistency between the epistemology of intuition and clarity and the epistemology of complexity theorized by Edgar Morin in terms of principles and categories. Morin considers this contradiction as the basis for proposing complexity epistemology as an alternative framework capable of reducing the risks generated by the epistemology of intuition and clarity. However, through our examination of Morin’s epistemology of complexity, contrary to what some believe, we found that Morin himself remained influenced by the categories of simplistic epistemology despite his rebellion against it, his criticism of it, and his call for establishing a transcendent epistemology beyond it. This influence led him not to fully adhere to the categories of complexity epistemology and contributed to the crystallization and formation of his non-religious philosophy and atheist thought.
