China's intangible cultural heritage, rooted in the long-standing Chinese civilization, dates back five thousand years, and is both profound and extensive, like a constellation of brilliant stars. These rich and diverse traditional cultural expressions highlight its unique cultural characteristics and spiritual demeanor. As a treasure of human wisdom, intangible cultural heritage, with its rich connotations, diverse forms, and far-reaching influence, has unique advantages. It can effectively enhance students' ideological, political, cultural, and moral cultivation, making it a valuable resource. Through efficient educational and inheritance methods, the protection and effective utilization of national culture can be achieved, further promoting the intergenerational transmission. Universities, as important venues for cultural dissemination, have significant advantages in cultural inheritance and innovation and should actively take on the responsibility of inheriting and protecting intangible cultural heritage. Currently, the integration of intangible cultural heritage into university ideological and political education mainly faces four issues: insufficient integration into the primary classroom, limited incorporation into extracurricular activities, inadequate intangible cultural heritage literacy among relevant personnel, and incomplete related safeguard mechanisms. This study proposes countermeasures and suggestions from four dimensions: vigorously popularizing intangible cultural heritage into the primary classroom, deepening its incorporation into university students' extracurricular activities, continuously improving the intangible cultural heritage literacy of relevant personnel, and establishing and improving safeguard mechanisms for integrating intangible cultural heritage into university political and ideological education. By nurturing new-era college students with China's excellent intangible cultural heritage, the unique role of intangible cultural heritage in cultivating roots, casting souls, enlightening wisdom, and nurturing hearts can be fully utilized, providing valuable references for promoting the development and innovation of university education.
