Eco-socialism has taken shape through a critique of capitalism's ecological crisis. From the value dimension, eco-socialism challenges capitalism's dualistic view of nature, which separates humans from the natural world, as well as its alienated consumerism, advocating instead for respect for nature and the establishment of a rational view of human needs. From a theoretical dimension, eco-socialism critiques capitalism's anti-ecological principles of accumulation and economic rationality, promoting instead the idea of economic development guided by ecological rationality. From a practical dimension, eco-socialism critiques capitalism's ecological governance solutions and proposes a path toward a future eco-socialist society through the integration of red and green political movements. As the global ecological crisis worsens, eco-socialism is becoming increasingly important for raising ecological awareness and calling for global ecological justice.
