Unofficial monitoring of presidential elections, which includes both civil society observation and international monitoring, is an important mechanism to ensure the integrity and democracy of elections, given the guarantees of neutrality and independence it provides—if such monitoring is organized in a precise and effective manner. Therefore, in this research paper, we attempted to study how the Algerian legislator regulates this type of monitoring of presidential elections and concluded that the legal regulation of unofficial monitoring does not ensure the effectiveness of this monitoring. Based on the findings, we proposed some recommendations.
