The article highlights the convergence of the principle of gender equality between Islamic Sharia and international law, despite differing philosophical foundations; as international law seeks formal equality in rights and duties without discrimination, while Sharia emphasizes substantive equality based on justice and the complementary natural roles of man and woman in building society. It calls for integrating Sharia principles into international human rights discourse to enrich the global legal framework with an approach that respects cultural and religious particularities, thereby establishing just equality rather than identical uniformity.
